Fishing - Siem Reap, Cambodia

There are moments on trips where you just happen to be in the right place at the right time, when an opportunity presents itself.
On the way to the temple of Banteay Srei in the Angkor Heritage area yesterday, Mark saw such an opportunity. Now we just needed to ask the tuk tuk driver to turn around and have him ask the fisherman to throw his net for us.
Obviously both requests were met and we had a great photographic moment. The fisherman was friendly and grateful for the small tip. His muscular build was unusual for a Cambodian man, it was as if he worked out at a gym. However it was obvious that he worked hard at his job and that was the reason for his build.

The day at the temples was also very rewarding. More photos and stories to come!

  1. It began with a key in a matchbox under the Christmas tree in '73. The mountain high with JD & smores cooked over a campfire is now a Himalayan high with MH & flatbread cooked over Yak dung. Add Judy & Rex discovering the blue highways of America with Suzanne & Kayla's love of the outdoors and we have empirical evidence of a problem presenting an opportunity.
