On the Road in Iceland

10 things an iPhoneographer can do when stuck in a jet on the tarmac for 3 hours

1. Take photos out the window of the planes that are taking off.
2. Take photos of the scream babies on the plane that, as you, are frustrated and a little crazed, but you are too grown up to cry.
3. Transfer images from your iPhone to your iPad via PhotoTransfer just in case your iPhone battery dies.
4. Process images on your iPhone. Trying new ideas that only come to mind when you are totally bored. (see above image)
5. When your iPhone battery dies, start processing a different image on your iPad because you didn't transfer your masterpiece before the battery died.
6. Process images for awhile, listen to music, read a book and then doodle on your iPad until the battery dies.
7. Stuff napkins in the air vent so the condensation quits dripping on you.
8. Listen to the captain tell you for the 8th time that there is still no information from the tower to which route they are trying to divert us to due to thunderstorms in the Midwest.
9. Get your laptop out so you can recharge your iPhone and iPad batteries so you can finish your masterpieces.
10. Go to the terminal to deplane because the FAA requires the airlines to let you get out of the plane after 3 hours....in the terminal get food, use the restroom, re-plane and sit in the plane once again...

REPEAT....for two more hours...then take off and fly for 6 hours to Seattle.

FYI - Snapseed is now available for the iPhone.

  1. My love is in league with the freeway
Its passion will ride, as the cities fly by
And the tail-lights dissolve, in the coming of night
And the questions in thousands take flight
My love is a-miles in the waiting
The eyes that just stare and the glance at the clock
And the secret that burns, and the pain that grows dark
    And it's you once again
Leading me on (leading me on) leading me down the road
Driving be - yond (driving me down) driving me down the road

    My love is exceedingly vivid.
Red-eyed and fevered with the hum of the miles
Distance and longing, my thoughts do collide
Should I rest for a while at the side?

Your love is cradled in knowing
Eyes in the mirror, still expecting they'll come
Sensing too well when the journey is done
There is no turning back - no
There is no turning back - on the run
My love is in league with the freeway
Oh with the freeway, and the coming of night-time
My love, my love is in league with the freeway
