Horsetail Falls - Columbia River Gorge

Hipstamatic Magic
Recently I have been spending time with my friend Mark hiking a couple of the trails in the Columbia Gorge. Mark has lived in the area for a longtime and knows the Gorge well. He takes the steep trails while I meander my way through the waterfalls stopping to take photos. I have had difficulty processing the waterfalls to look like more than just a white stripe among the green.
When capturing today's image I couldn't see a thing on the screen because the light was so bright. However I snapped the camera anyway with some faith. I was pleasantly surprised at the magical moment. I love the way the sun's rays are almost kissing the water. Obviously  the waterfall isn't the star of the show but without the mist created by it the photo wouldn't be possible.
Thanks Mark for exposing me to magically moments like this!

I used PhotoForge Watercolor to create the sparkle in the water. I hope you like it as much as I do!
