The Lion is Sleeping in All of Us

One of the last images I captured in Iceland
As I approach the first anniversary of my ah-ha moment, I am looking back on what has changed in my life. Long ago I made a goal for myself; I desired to travel, teach and photograph. I wanted to travel the world and understand more about the world we live in. When teaching I wanted to motivate, inspire and show what is photographically possible ( little did I know it would be with the iPhone.) While photographing I wanted to I capture things that I am drawn to - beautiful landscapes to rusty vehicles.

Now that most of my current goals are fulfilled, I am looking toward different goals. Once again creating a new path, hopefully a broader one.

While creating this image, I was watching a moving interview by Chris Jarvis about photographer, Chris Jordon, and his incredible photographic projects. I wondered if I dare to dream that big. Do I even consider taking on a project that may change the world somehow?

Then I thought: Is it ironic that I am processing an image of a sleeping lion? Is there a sleeping lion in me? The answer I believe is yes. I don't know what or how it will manifest itself but I do know that I have new goals to make.

I had no idea a year ago that I would be teaching how to use apps to create beautiful art and motivating and inspiring so many to do so. Just as I have no idea what life has in store for me in the coming year. However, I do know that because I have found something I am passionate about wonderful changes will continue to happen!
