Yesterday I posted a panoramic image of the Car Farm and today I processed two of the cars. What a fun place this was. The grass was about knee high and my Muck Boots weren't able to keep my pants dry but that didn't stop me from searching the property for all the cars among the rolling hills.
Along the journey we stopped at many farms wanting to capture an old barn, tractor, grass bails and sometimes just an old structure among the countryside. I found that the farmers were just as friendly and accommodating as the ones I have encountered in the Palouse (in WA, USA). It is incredible that many Icelandic farms have a backdrop of a couple hundred foot waterfall or towering terraced hillsides.

A couple days ago the sun was shining bright and the sky was clear dark blue in the afternoon. We stopped at a farm where I captured many images of the terraced hillside, the pump house, the Icelandic horses and then I climbed as high as I could to get the best view of the waterfall. When I started the climb I had only 4% battery power but it didn't matter if I captured the waterfall with my iPhone, I really wanted the memory, etched in my brain. After I did capture 3 photos the battery went dead and that is when a full rainbow arched across the waterfall in all its glory. Did I photographically miss the moment - yep. Am I bummed - absolutely not! I saw the moment and then I sat down on the terraced mountain, closed my eyes and soaked up the sun. It is important to me to remember to take a breather after I get all those images I so desperately need; it is a journey worthy of my time.
