Glorious Morning in Iceland
We were on the road at 4am this morning and saw the sunrising in the sky turning the clouds into beautiful colors, however we hadn't yet arrived at our destination. So we changed our plans and stopped literally right in the middle of the road (no traffic at 4am in Iceland!) and took this incredible reflection in a puddle.
This image was only sharpened in Filterstorm, no other processing necessary. I also am including at the end of this blog a screen shot to show that yes a stitched image from an iPhone is a large size 16mp to be exact. Is it printable? - you bet it is, just as many iPhone images are.
Our day continued to a wonderful lagoon full of icebergs. Some were grounded, some broke apart and floated away right in front of us. I just sat there and watched the amazement of Mother Nature changing the earth right in front of me. Our final stop this morning was at the black sand beach just across the road from the lagoon. This is where the ocean waves once again grounded many of the icebergs that were floating by us. The beach was literally litered with them.
The above photo is my Icelandic iPhoneography (and big boy camera photography) partners, Harry Sandler and Michael Pressman. It has been a pleasure to travel with them this week. We have shared jokes and created very memorable stories!
This image was captured from the car window because it was raining too hard outside. The fog was low and you couldn't see any of the spectacular mountains or glaciers on the trip to our hotel that day. These buildings are referred to as 'out houses', however they are used to shelter the sheep in the winter time. These particular ones were no longer in use. We were amazed at how they were built right into the rock!
This image was processed with Artista Haiku, Blender and Filterstorm.
The screen print shows the size of the top stitched image. It was stitched with the app AutoStitch on the iPhone.

Churches, Farms and Iceland
So many church to capture the countryside is full of them.

Many of the churches in the countryside are right next to a farm. Sometimes the farms are abandoned sometime they look like they should and are not. The pastor used to live on the working farm next to the church, but that isn't common anymore.
Sadly today it rained most of the day. The clouds were low when we went over a wonderfully scenic pass, but couldn't see much at all. It would have been great to have fog instead of low clouds, but no luck.
Ended at a great waterfall where a bride and groom were getting their photo taking in the rain. It was hilarious. Mostly because the paparazzi was also there, my two fellow photography companions. They most likely got a better photo than the hired photographer. lol
I did happen to capture a few images in the morning before the rain.
Heading towards the Glacier tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing the ice in the water, among other things.
BTW I have gotten out my big girl camera. But am enjoying my iPhone very much, especially in the rain!

My Primary Camera Folder
In honor of , Dan Burkholder, a man I admire for his iPhoneography, I decided to do something a little different today. The image is a screen print of one of my iPhone folders. In this particular folder I have a variety of my favorite 12 cameras. It is very important to organize your iPhone folders and screen pages when you start accumulating apps. This is just one of 3 folders I have full of cameras. Can you imagine carrying all of those with you in your traditional camera bag...lol? Actually all but the first row of my home screen is dedicated to iPhoneography with over 100 apps devoted to my passion. Now that is a lot of organizing.
As you know I use the ProHDR camera for many of my images. It is a favorite because of the quality. However it is rather slow processing the images so I am trying out TrueHDR. I will admit it I am still finding ProHDR to be my first choice due to familiarity. I have heard several good things and many friends currently prefer TrueHDR over ProHDR.
The Hipstamatic really doesn't need an introduction. “The Hipstamatic brings back the look, feel, unpredictable beauty, and fun of plastic toy cameras of the past!” You chose the lens, film and type of flash for very different looks. The Hipsta is great for all types of photography and loved by all age groups. It performs well in low light and takes great portraits.
ProCamera, ClearCam, Camera and Camtastic all have features unique amongest them. I use ProCamera most often. I need to start using it more often but the creature of habit in me keeps going to ProHDR.
SeeThis is a camera I use when I am out all day and my creative juices are flowing. It takes a bit of practice before you'll get the hang of it and some personal instruction is helpful. It creates a look all of its own.
SlowShutter is for the panning photographer in me. During those all day shoots when the creative flows, I start getting into a workflow that comprises of many varieties of iamges. Panning the scene is a favorite thing for me to do. I have found that the iPhone pans much differently than a DSLR. I have also found that with some practice you can create a multiple exposure look. It is so much fun to find the time to play.
Burst Mode another camera I need to get out and practice playing with.
TrigonScope is for true play. Just fun and crazy
8mm - I choose this video camera because I like the way it jumps around naturally. I have a tremor and have never been much of a videographer but with this camera you can't tell ;-)
Well I hope this blog inspired you to do two things: keep organized and go play with your cameras!
For those of you who do not know how to create screen prints, let me explain - Simply press the round home button at the bottom of the iPhone AND the power button at the top - AT THE SAME TIME - quickly and release quickly. If you did it correctly the screen will flash to white and then return. The screen print will appear in your Photo Album. BTW I use this feature daily for websites I don't want to forget, a map I need for quick reference and for my iPhoneography course - a picture tells a thousand words!
