SlowShutter Abstract

Morning on the Yakima River

My life is full of adventure that is for sure. I am very fortunate to be able to make my own decisions which include where I am planning to hang my hat each night. Recently I have often chosen to be in the great outdoors. This morning I woke up at the edge of the Yakima River here in my hometown of Cle Elum. When I looked out my car window I saw the morning light glowing on the tall grass creating a wonderful reflection.
So grateful to live in a world that presents so many simple gifts each day!

Iceland Grass Church on the Farm

A common concern my students have when processing images is that they can't always remember which app they used. I try to free them of this issue because I believe the the logical brain and the creative brain are in conflict with such a concern. I would prefer that my students play, create and have fun then worry about which app or app filter was used. It is my thought that if you are too worried about keeping track you aren't freeing yourself to just be the artist.
I do realize that in order to learn you must keep some kind of track of your steps and thoughts so I recommend that my students make quick screen prints of the processes as they go along. It took some time for me to be able to look at an image and know which apps were most likely used, but in time I did.

Today's image is from a farm in Iceland. It was because of images I saw of this farm that I knew I had to go to Iceland. I am so grateful that I got to go. It will be a place I will always long to go back to!
